I&#8217;ve used CVS for over a decade now and I&#8217;ve been trying Subversion for a little less than a year. I haven&#8217;t yet moved most of my home projects to Subversion, but it&#8217;s looking more probable every day.<\/p>\n<p>The ability to rename and reorganize your files and directories without losing history is wonderful. The separation of <em>status<\/em> from <em>update<\/em> is great. I&#8217;m slowly coming to appreciate the properties system. It&#8217;s really great to have a mime-type associated with each file and all the potential that goes along with that.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to get started with Subversion, you can download a version at the URL above.
