At the time, they had t-shirts made featuring the villain The Evil Mastermind. The shirts looked amusing and the concept seemed worth a shot. I had seen similar ads before and they seemed okay.

I’ve been seeing the ads all year in programming magazines, and I admit they’re good and really different. I’ve liked the way they use The Evil Mastermind to point out some of the inane non-technical hurdles we as developers need to jump through. They also have their t-shirt promotion running again (still?). If you are willing to meet TEM‘s demands, you can have a t-shirt for free.

So, here I am, paying for my shirt with an action picture of me.

Anyone who knows me knows how much I hate being in a picture, but this was worth it.

Since I don’t currently work in the Windows realm, I can’t really say anything about their software; but the ads are great.

The company SourceGear makes tools for software developers, mostly in the version control area.
